ASIA KITCHEN: Mrs. Lau’s Easy Meals

Steamed Sea Bass

Ingredients (serves 4-6):

1½ lb Sea Bass, gutted, with head and tail on
¼ cup Ginger, julienne
½ cup Scallions, julienne
1 Tsp Cooking Oil
2 Tsp Amoy Soy Sauce for Seafood

Directions:

  1. Score the skin on the fish. Place some ginger and scallions inside cavity of fish.
  2. Line some scallions on bottom of steaming plate.
  3. Steam fish for 8 minutes, or until cooked.
  4. Heat oil in wok. Add scallions. Cook for ½ minute.
  5. Pour scallions over fish.
  6. Add Soy Sauce for Seafood over fish.

Mrs. Lau was born in Hong Kong.She moved to Orlando in 1997. Since she lives with her American son-in-law, she has to cook dishes that appeal to both Chinese and American tastes.
