Asian Festival 2008

The diversity of Asian culture celebrated at
the Orlando Asian Festival 2008 on June 7th
from 5 to 9pm at UCF’s Pegasus ballroom. The
event was hosted by the Asian American Heritage
Council and UCF’s Asian Pacific American Coalition.
Food was served at 6:30pm, provided by
Viet Town Restaurant at East Colonial
by Mills
Ave and China Garden Restaurant at Winter
Park.
The event started at 7:30pm. Performances
include UCF-CASA Lion Dance, violin duet,
and
Indian dance performance. The highlight of
the show was the talent contest.
Fresh Off The
Beat hip hop dance group from UCF won the
Youth Talent Contest (ages 18-25).
Ms Karen
Du & Ms. Pingping Zhou’s Tai Chi Fan Dance
from OCPA won the Seniors Talent
Contest
(ages 50+). Jenny Tang’s violin won the Youth
Talent Contest (ages 12+).
