Asian Pacific American Festival at the F. Burton Smith Regional Park in Brevard County

It was a typical Florida weekend that day; sunny blue skies, warm tropical breezes but the sights and sounds would have you thinking of far away places like Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, India, and the Hawaiian Islands.
Yes, these are the places that I recently visited during my adventures at the
F. Burton Smith Regional Park in Brevard County while celebrating the annual
Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival sponsored by the Florida Space Coast Filipino-American Charitable & Educational Foundation (SFACEF).
Many had gathered that day to soak in the rich Asian Pacific culture and to share a common thread we Asian Pacific Americans have shared for decades; diversity in culture and heritage. I personally would also like add my favorite aspects of these events, the variety of ethnic foods and the wonderful entertainment.
Performers such as the Anglung Orchestra, Bayanihan at Wedgefield, Major “J” Hance, Fumiko Dudnick, Philip Mahoney, Rachel Tobillo, Philippine Cultural Dance Ensemble of Brevard, Eric Cruz, Sanlahi, Ultimate Martial Arts Academy, and the India Cultural Dance troupe filled our day with adventure for these far away places.
Asian Pacific American Heritage month may have come to a close, but I encourage you to continue to celebrate our rich culture and heritage with others.
