The Asian American Chamber of Commerce
of Central Florida (AACC) celebrated
the Chinese
Lunar New Year with a festive banquet at
Ming Court on
International Drive in Orlando.
The event began with a networking hour to
give the guests an opportunity to
mingle with
other guests at the restaurant’s indoor courtyard.
After the customary “meet and greet” session,
the festivities began with the skillful rendition of
a traditional Chinese lion dance by the Hung Fut
Pai Kung Fu performers that brought delight to
the spectators.
AACC president Glenn Leong officially welcomed
members and guests and
introduced
the evening’s dignitaries led by Sheriff Jerry
Demings and his wife, Orlando Chief of Police, Val Demings. This was followed by the serving
of a sumptuous lunar new year feast consisting
of exotic Chinese dishes such
as Cantonese
roast duck, Sha Tzu Beef, Eggplant Stuffed with
Shrimp, and Seafood Tofu in Flaming Wok.
The guest speaker for the evening was Ms.
Eunice Choi who spoke to the
attendees about
opportunities available to the Asian business
community.
Choi, who is the Regional Director of
the Small Business Development Center
SBDC
at the University of Central Florida (UCF), has
been with the SBDC for
12 years and is a certified
business analyst....
