Otronicon 2008
January 21, 2008
Full Sail’s Game Development and Computer Animation staff host a series of special workshops that pulled the curtain back on some of the mysteries of the game production process.
These sessions ran from January 18 – 25, with the first weekend of classes open to the public, both young and old. The remaining days welcomed middle and high school students from the Central Florida area for an exclusive learning opportunity that covered many of the foundations that your favorite games
are built on.
Held in the Orlando Science Center’s Learning Center, the staff gave an overview of such industry topics as 3D modeling, animation, and interactive
level design. Each classroom featured a group of a dozen or more students
who were able to sit down on their own PC and Mac setups, running Maya
– the same 3D content creation software used to build the graphics in
today’s games.
